Boys Year 4 Football Tournament Report 15/3/2013 at Coombe Dingle
Great job by the Year 4 football boys. It couldn't have rained much harder
last Friday, but that didn't put Ben, Max, Conrad, Seb, Raymond, Arthur, Ned,
Sammy or Lawrence off their game. Throughout the group matches the team played
some great football which secured them a place in the third/fourth position
match. Max and Arthur finished off some great teamwork with two fantastic
goals and the boys came home in third place. Well done!
Fun Mini Triathlon Report 8/3/2013 at Clifton College
Congratulations to the Year 3 triathletes. Elizabeth, Keiron, Eva, Eskil, Charlotte, Ciaran, Katie and Sam put on a great display of sporting skills. Starting with an awesome team swim where they came second in their group. They followed on with a team cross country relay where they passed the baton perfectly. They ended the triathlon by impressing us with their athletics skills in the sports hall. Watch out the Brownlee brothers! Also many thanks to all the parents for their support.
Quicksticks Tournament Report 2/5/2013, BGS
Well done to the Year 5 hockey players who attended the countywide Quicksticks tournament. Jack, India, Sam, Daisy, Ben and Emily put on a stirling performance and played with great team spirit and impressive communication. They played some great attacking moves and put away 19 goals between them. Daisy was the key defensive player and was awarded by her team “player of the tournament”. They all played really well and after a nail biting penalty shoot out in one of the playoff games, they secured 5th place out of 12 teams.
POP Lacrosse Festival Report 26/4/2013, Downs School
Well done to the Westbury Park Lacrosse players who attended the Lacrosse festival, it was a very tough competition. Being only the second time they had played Lacrosse, Joseph, Holly, Rohan, Scarlett, Benji, Phoebe, Caston and Grace, put on a great performance. They had to dodge some very experienced players to get that ball into the net which they managed admirably and their marking of the opposition was great.
Girls Football Tournament Report 26/2/2013 at St Bede’s
On a cold Tuesday afternoon at St Bede’s a Year 5 team and a Year 6 team took part in a girls football tournament. Well done to everyone as it was a tough competition! The Year 5 team, Lulu, Betty, Bella, Simran, Rhiannon, Molly, Ella and Isabelle, were the youngest team there and took on the other teams with great spirit and played very well, coming fourth overall. Great preparation for when they are in Year 6.
The Year 6, team, Ella, Teya, Madeleine, Tasha, Taryn, Megan, Niahm, Phoebe and Charlie, also played really well. Ella had a fantastic day in goal and in one particular match saved some great shots on goal which were coming thick and fast. The whole team worked really well together and although the result wasn’t what they hoped for, they should feel very pleased with just how well they played.
A special thank you to Tamsin and Martin for their fantastic coaching and making it possible to take two teams along.
Tag Rugby Tournament Report 22/2/2013 at RGS
What an excellent afternoon of Tag Rugby fun the Year 5 and 6’s had at RGS. Well done to Josh, Anna, Fianzo, Harrison, Amelia, Matthew, Sam, Ella, Alex and Jude. They showed great passing skills which they finished off with some great tries. Thankfully none of them tried any swallow dives! The team got better and better throughout the afternoon and saved their best win until the last game. Also, many thanks to the parents who came to support and cheer the team on.
