Welcome to Year Two

Mrs Challen (TA), Mr Nichols (TA), Mrs Low, Mrs Burdett (TA), Mrs Inker and Mrs Otlet (TA)

Hello and welcome to Year Two

This is a very exciting year!  We cover some great, stimulating topics which include interesting stories,  fun experiments and creative art and design work. We go on several trips and don't forget our end of year play, which this year is about the Fire of London.  As well as 30 children in each class, Mrs Inker, Mrs Low and Mrs Otlet we also have several other strange and wonderful creatures spending time with us and we enjoy watching them grow.

Homework

Reading: We do not officially set homework in Year Two but we expect all the children to
read regularly and for their progress to be recorded in their Reading Record book. School reading books will be changed twice a week. Please put an "f" next to the name of the book in the Reading Record when the book is finished.

Spellings: We send home weekly spelling lists which are tested each Friday, with the
results usually communicated to parents. We recommend you dictate spellings in a full sentence and in that way reinforce full stops, capital letters and handwriting as well as spelling. It is also worth going back and revisiting some of the spellings from previous weeks.
